Litigation , whether you are the claimant or defendant, can be very stressful, We, at Yor solicitors, provide you robust advice depending on the nature of your case . We also advise you about options of settlement so that costly court procedures can be avoided. We will explore the possibilities of reaching consent order and other settlement stages to avoid court battles.

Again, we are unable to provide a fixed fee as our fee depends on various circumstances, including the complexity of your matter and the experience of the solicitor dealing with your matter.  Our fee chart below will help you get an idea of our fee. Please note that VAT is not included below which is charged at the rate of 20 %.

Key Stages and Time Scale

Litigation can be time-consuming and involve many steps.In normal circumstances, a civil litigation matter will take approximately 03 months to complete. However, this will change according to the complexity of the matter. Every case is different, which is why we would like to discuss the steps and time scale at the stage of your instructions.

However following are the  main steps in typical  civil  litigation matter

  • Taking your instructions and reviewing documentation
  • Preparing and sending a letter before action to the debtor
  • If payment is not received from the debtor following the letter before action, drafting and issuing a money claim through the County Court
  • Where no Acknowledgement of Service or Defence is received, applying to the Court to enter Judgement in default
  • When Judgement in default is received, write to the other side to request judgement debt
  • Obtaining judgement debt amount from other side solicitors and pay to you
